University-wide Navigation

Online employee intermediate (E) and periphery (EK) parking permit renewals are now available. Please log in to your customer account at www.uky.edu/transportation to make the purchase.

Permits purchased online will be mailed to your home mailing address. Please pay special attention to the preferred mailing address when renewing your permit to ensure it is your home address, rather than a University office address.

Beginning on Monday, June 22, employees will have the option to either have their permit mailed to their home address or pick it up in person at our customer service express window. UK Transportation Services Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

All outstanding parking citations must be paid before a permit application will be processed. Citations may be paid online.

Please also note that 2019-2020 parking permits expire on June 30 and new permits must be displayed no later than Wednesday, July 1.

Employee permits are available at the same cost as last year, with no fee increase. In addition, employees can now once again opt to have their parking permit fees deducted on a pre-tax basis, resulting in further savings. This option recently became available following the repeal of 2017 legislation which limited the ability for nonprofit employers to offer payroll deductions for parking fees on a pre-tax basis.

If online permit renewal is not an option, employees may also call our office at 859-257-5757 to renew their permit.

Veteran’s Administration (E-VA) employees and UK employees seeking an ADA permit may call our office at 859-257-5757 to renew their permit. Online renewal is not currently an option for VA and ADA permits.

Permit renewal time also offers employees a good opportunity to consider other methods of transportation to campus. Transportation Services offers a number of attractive incentives to encourage both employees and students to consider sustainable commuting options, such as biking, walking or ride sharing with family members. For details about these incentives, visit the incentives section of our website.

Employee Intermediate Permits

Intermediate employee permits for the 2020-2021 permit year cost $40 per month ($480 annually). Employees who choose to purchase an intermediate employee permit not only have the flexibility of parking in all intermediate employee (E) lots but may also park in the south campus periphery (K and EK) areas. For more details about intermediate employee permits, please visit our employee intermediate permits page.

Employee Periphery Permits

Employees who choose to park only at the south campus periphery (Kroger Field Red, Blue, or Orange Lots, Commonwealth Drive and College Way East and West lots) may purchase a periphery employee (EK) permit for $34 per month ($408 annually). For more details about employee periphery permits, please visit our employee periphery permits page.

Employee Core Permits

Employees looking for a more predictable parking option than the traditional intermediate or periphery parking areas are encouraged to consider employee core parking options. The cost for a core permit is $60 per month ($720 annually). Core permit quantities are limited and are available through a waitlist. Employees who wish to sign up for a core permit can add themselves to one or more core permit waitlists, accessible through the customer account manager. While on the waitlist, employees will need to purchase an employee intermediate or periphery permit in order to park on campus until they are selected for a permit upgrade. For more details, please visit our core permits page.
