UK Transportation Services is pleased to announce additional parking options for employees and student commuters near the School of Art and Visual Studies Building in the Bolivar and South Broadway areas.

New for the spring 2023 semester, Transportation Services is offering a limited number of student commuter parking permits for sale for the South Mill Lot, located at the northwest corner of Bolivar and South Mill streets across from the School of Art and Visual Studies Building. These C40 permits are restricted to students with 30 or more credit hours who live outside a one-mile radius of campus. This lot is currently shared with residents of the South Hills Station Condominium Association, so parking in the lot is controlled 24/7 to ensure that space remains available for South Hill Station residents at all times. In addition, C40 permit holders are not allowed to park overnight in the lot without prior authorization.

Additional employee intermediate (E) parking has also been added along South Broadway between the Reynolds Buildings and Tolly-Ho, following the University’s recent purchase of several area parcels (Central Kentucky Ag Credit Headquarters and Burley Tobacco Growers Cooperative buildings). The South Broadway parking area provides additional proximate daytime parking options for employees with intermediate parking permits, as well as off-peak access for employees and students with any valid UK parking permit.

Students interested in purchasing a C40 permit or upgrading from an existing permit should visit Transportation Service’s Customer Service Center, located at 721 Press Avenue in the Press Avenue Garage, or call 859-257-5757.  Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
