Big Blue Open House Events to Impact Parking, Traffic

A series of five Big Blue Open House events scheduled for this fall will impact parking and traffic on north campus. The first open house is scheduled for Friday, October 7, followed by another on Monday, October 10.



Families who are visiting campus will park primarily in Cornerstone Garage (PS #5), so employees and students should expect increased demand for parking in that structure. In addition, the Gatton Student Center Visitor Lot has been reserved for overflow parking on Monday, October 10. Most families are expected to arrive on campus by 8 a.m. and will be in attendance until late afternoon.



In addition to the open house events, UK Athletics will host Pro Day at Memorial Coliseum on Monday, October 10. Approximately 60 spaces in the Coliseum Lot will be reserved beginning 11 a.m. Sunday, October 9, through 6 p.m. Monday, October 10.



Employees who typically park in Cornerstone Garage or the Coliseum Lot also have access to the following employee intermediate (E) lots in the area: College View, King Alumni North and South, Career Center, Schmidt, and Linden Walk lots. Employees with E-Intermediate permits may also park in the Scott Street area lots.



Please anticipate an increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic during these events and plan accordingly.
