Big Impact. Big Thanks!
Thank you for supporting UK’s Big Blue Pantry during our recent Donations for Citations drive. Your contribution made a significant impact!
UK Transportation Services collected a whopping 2,804.5 pounds of food and personal care products during the fall drive. These donations support University of Kentucky students who are experiencing food insecurity or who require additional support to meet personal care needs.
The fall drive began on Monday, Oct. 20, and continued through Friday, Nov. 7. While the fall drive typically lasts two weeks, it was extended by an additional week this year to help meet higher than usual demand for the Pantry’s services.
In all, 456 people donated, helping keep the Pantry’s shelves stocked.
Big Blue Pantry is an on-campus organization that works to combat hunger and food insecurity for students. This twice-per-year donation drive lets people settle one regular ($30) parking citation by donating food or personal care items.
Since the program’s inception in 2016, the campus community has donated more than 36,304 pounds of food and personal care items.
