Bus Stop Move Improves Transit Access to North Campus Residence Halls

Effective Sunday, March 17, University of Kentucky Transportation Services will relocate the westbound Avenue of Champions bus stop at Lexington Avenue one block to the west to Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in front of Jewell Hall. The last day of service for the existing stop will be Friday, March 15. This change is designed to provide more convenient transit access to the north campus residence halls and the Gatton Student Center and will impact riders using the campus White Route and Sunday service via the Yellow Route.

The existing bus stop in front of Memorial Coliseum was positioned at its current location a number of years ago. However, the recent opening of the Gatton Student Center and construction of the new north campus residence halls has dramatically changed the transit needs in this area, which has compelled this change.
