University-wide Navigation

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, most campus bus routes will not operate on Monday, September 6. This will include the Blue and White Routes (Lextran 14), the Green Route and the Orange Route (UK HealthCare Route).

Instead, students, staff, and faculty will have access to the Yellow Route (Lextran 27) from 9 a.m. to midnight on Labor Day. Yellow Route buses are usually only available on weekends and travel between Kroger Field and north campus, focusing on serving major student residential areas.

All bus service will return to normal operation on Tuesday, September 7. For route and schedule details, visit http://www.uky.edu/transportation/buses.

Parking on Labor Day

Many campus parking lots will also be off control on Labor Day, an official University holiday. With the reduced demand for parking, students and employees may take advantage of additional parking options.

However, even when lots are not controlled for permits, they are still monitored for other parking violations, such as parking in fire lanes, parking on yellow lines, and unauthorized parking in ADA-accessible areas.

UKHC employees may also take advantage of proximate employee lots on Labor Day, following UKHC’s policy. Attendants will not be on duty on Monday, but to ensure adequate parking for patients and visitors, employees are asked to use the Kentucky Clinic Parking Garage (PS #3) rather than the UK HealthCare Garage (PS #8).

The UK Transportation Services office, located at 721 Press Avenue, will also be closed on Labor Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, September 7.
