Campus Ruckus to Impact Kroger Field & Nearby Parking Areas

Fireworks are being planned for Campus Ruckus 2021, an annual back-to-school bash.

To make room for the show, 165 spaces in the Kroger Field Periphery (K) Blue Lot will be reserved beginning on Friday, August 13. This 200 x 200 square foot area is located in the middle section of the Blue Lot, adjacent to Alumni Drive, and will serve as the staging spot for the fireworks show.

Campus Ruckus 2021 is scheduled for 8 p.m. to midnight Thursday, August 19, but the Blue Lot area is being blocked early to ensure that it remains clear of vehicles. Students will begin arriving on campus on Monday, August 16, and no vehicles will be allowed to park in this cordoned-off area.

An additional 37 employee intermediate spaces located along the northbound side of Cooper Drive to Complex Drive will be reserved beginning Wednesday evening, August 18, through Thursday, August 19.

Campus Ruckus is sponsored by the UK Student Activities Board and takes place at Pieratt Field. Students can enjoy a variety of inflatable games and activities, free food and drink and musical entertainment. Over 200 registered student groups are expected to be in attendance. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. on August 19.
