Cooper Drive Pedway to Close

The pedway over Cooper Drive is scheduled to permanently close on Saturday, June 1. 

This closure is the result of the upcoming construction of an addition to the Charles E. Barnhart Building. A section of the pedway will be removed to build that addition.

Pedestrians impacted by the closure can choose to use crosswalks at the intersections of University and Cooper drives or Limestone and Cooper drive. Another option could be to use the tunnel that runs under Cooper at Veteran’s Drive.

The new addition will span approximately 66,000 square feet and will become the college’s primary teaching facility and student center. It will have 15 classrooms, as well as dedicated outdoor spaces.
