Election Day to Impact Office Hours & Campus Bus Service
Tuesday, November 5, is a presidential election day and an official University of Kentucky holiday. As a result, many University offices – including UK Transportation Services -- will be closed on Election Day. Campus bus service will also be impacted.
The Blue and White Route will operate on the typical modified holiday schedule of 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Election Day. The Green Route will run 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the Purple Route will not be available that day.
Orange Route buses (UK HealthCare) will operate on their normal schedule, as will the On-Demand Night Bus.
Many campus parking lots and structures will be off control on Election Day, as is standard operating procedure during official University holidays.
UK HealthCare clinical operations, however, will remain open, which means that patient/visitor parking areas will be necessary to support typical daily patient/visitor parking needs. As a result, UK HealthCare employees are not authorized to park in patient and visitor parking areas prior to 4:30 p.m.
Regular Transportation Services’ office hours will resume on Wednesday, November 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, all campus buses will return to normal operations on Wednesday.
If you have questions or need more information, please contact UK Transportation Services.
