2021-2022 employee parking permit sales begin this month. The sale dates vary based upon permit type; additional details are below.

Transportation Services is pleased to announce that parking permit rates remain unchanged from last year. Employees can opt to have their parking permit fees deducted on a pre-tax basis, where the cost is taken from the employee’s gross pay before taxes are withheld, thereby reducing the employee’s overall taxable income. Permits are available for purchase online, on-site and over the phone according to the renewal schedule detailed below.

To purchase a permit online, simply log in to your customer account using your linkblue ID and password. You can choose to either have the permit mailed to your home mailing address or opt to pick it up either inside our traditional customer service center or at our exterior customer express window. If choosing the mailing option, please pay special attention to the preferred mailing address to ensure it is your home address, rather than a University office address.

To purchase a permit on-site, visit our customer service center, located at 721 Press Avenue. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. To purchase over the phone, call our permitting staff at 859-257-5757.

All outstanding parking citations must be paid before a permit purchase may be processed. Citations may be paid online, on-site or over the phone.

Current year (2020-2021) parking permits will expire on June 30 and new permits must be displayed no later than Thursday, July 1.

Sale Dates & Permit Types

Employee Core Permits

Employees with a current core (C) permit were able to renew their permit beginning Wednesday, May 12. The cost for a core permit is $60 per month ($720 annually).

Employees looking for a more predictable parking option than the traditional intermediate or periphery parking areas may add their name to one or more core permit waitlists, accessible through their customer account. While on the waitlist, employees will need to purchase an employee intermediate or periphery permit to park on campus until they are selected for a permit upgrade. For more details, visit our core permits page.

Employee Intermediate Permits

Employee Intermediate (E) permits for 2021-2022 cost $40 per month ($480 annually). These permits go on sale starting Wednesday, May 19.

Employees who choose to purchase an intermediate permit not only have the flexibility of parking in all employee intermediate (E) lots but may also park in the south campus periphery (K and EK) areas.

For more details about employee intermediate permits, please visit our employee intermediate permits page.

Employee Periphery Permits

Employees who choose to park only at the south campus periphery (Kroger Field Red, Blue, or Orange Lots, Commonwealth Drive and College Way East and West lots) may purchase a periphery (EK) permit for $34 per month ($408 annually).

For more details about periphery permits, visit our employee periphery permits page. These permits also go on sale on Wednesday, May 19.

ADA, VA Hospital, BCTC & Shriner’s Hospital Permits

Veteran’s Administration (E-VA) employees may visit our customer service center or call our office at 859-257-5757 to purchase a permit. Online renewal is not currently an option for those with VA permits. Veteran’s Administration employees seeking an employee intermediate permit must also have a VA-issued application.

Employees seeking or renewing a temporary ADA permit may visit our customer service center or call our office at 859-257-5757. Online purchase or renewal is not currently an option for those with temporary ADA permits. Employees with permanent ADA permits may renew online, on-site or over the phone.

Likewise, BCTC employees may purchase their permit online, on-site or over the phone.

Shriner’s Hospital employees may purchase an E-Intermediate or Employee Periphery permit and should contact their human resources department for an application.

Alternative Transportation

Permit renewal time also offers employees a good opportunity to consider other methods of transportation to campus. Transportation Services offers several attractive incentives to encourage both employees and students to consider sustainable commuting options, such as biking, walking or ride sharing. For details about these incentives, visit the incentives section of our website. Commute Club and Cash Out incentive programs are currently accepting applications.

 2021-2022 Citation Fee Rates

While employee parking permit fees will remain unchanged from last fiscal year, most citation rates will increase by $5 beginning July 1. This change will mark the first increase in citation fees in more than 15 years. Fines associated with citations written prior to July 1 will remain priced at the issued rate. Additional details will be communicated in the coming weeks.  A full rate sheet will be available at Transportation Services website before July 1.
