University of Kentucky students, employees, patients and visitors are encouraged to consider the potential for significant traffic impacts Monday, Nov. 4, as the result of President Donald Trump’s visit to Lexington.

He is scheduled to speak at a rally in Rupp Arena Monday evening. Commuters should anticipate traffic congestion and the potential for road closures during the afternoon commute.

Traffic on the north side of UK's campus and around Blue Grass Airport may encounter road closures to accommodate the president's motorcade. Anyone whose driving route takes them into these areas should be mindful of delays and consider taking alternate routes.

Doors to the rally open at 4 p.m., which is expected to attract attendees during the afternoon. Fayette County Public Schools is canceling after-school activities to help relieve some evening traffic impact, but regular dismissal times will be observed, meaning that parents will be picking children up from school during congested traffic times.

Lexington Police have not yet received information on motorcade traffic routes due to security reasons.
