Wildcats are headed back to campus! Move-in starts on Saturday, August 8, and will continue through Sunday, August 16. As a result, please expect some campus parking and travel-related impacts over the next week.

Move-In Impacts

The University’s official move-in map is located here and outlines move-in parking areas, as well as temporary one-way streets. Please take a moment to review the map in order to plan your best route.

Some of the more notable changes related to move-in are that there will be no parking on northbound University Drive from Cooper to Hilltop. Also, city meters on Martin Luther King Boulevard, Lexington Avenue and Avenue of Champions will be blocked off.

Vehicles parked on the following streets must be moved by midnight Friday, August 7, to accommodate move-in traffic:

  1. Avenue of Champions
  2. Lexington Avenue
  3. Martin Luther King Boulevard
  4. Northbound University Drive from Cooper to Hilltop

The following lots and structures are being used to support move-in traffic, so please expect extra traffic volume in these areas:

  • Cornerstone Garage (PS #5)
  • Rose Street Garage (PS #2), level 3 and above
  • Sports Center Garage (PS #7)
  • Employee intermediate surface lot on Woodland Avenue (move-in traffic only)
  • William T. Young Library Visitor Lot (move-in traffic only)
  • Surface lot C16
  • Employee intermediate lot on Sports Center Drive
  • Green Lot

Construction-Related Impacts

Construction projects unrelated to move-in are also continuing on north campus. Work on the new Cornerstone Garage addition is now entering its final stage. As a result, Winslow will be open to traffic, but restricted to one lane.

Following move-in week, Kentucky American Water Company will continue its water line replacement project on Winslow and Avenue of Champions, so please exercise caution and expect some traffic disruptions in that area.
