The upcoming Independence Day holiday on Monday, July 4, will impact campus parking and bus schedules.

Campus bus routes, including the Blue and White routes (Lextran 14), the Green Route, and the Orange Route (UK HealthCare) will not be in service on Monday, but will resume their regular summer schedules on Tuesday, July 5.

Many campus parking lots will also be off control on Independence Day. With the reduced demand for parking, students and employees may take advantage of additional parking options that day.

UK HealthCare (UKHC) employees may also take advantage of proximate employee lots on the Fourth of July, following UKHC’s policy. Attendants will not be on duty, but to ensure adequate parking for patients and visitors, employees are asked to use the Kentucky Clinic Parking Garage (PS #3) rather than the UK HealthCare Garage (PS #8).

Selected UK HealthCare patient shuttles will continue to run on July 4, including the main Chandler Hospital patient shuttle, which will be in operation from 5:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., and the emergency department van, which will be available on demand all day and night by calling 859-983-7323. The concourse golf cart will also be available from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The UK Transportation Services' Customer Service Center will be closed on Monday, July 4, but will reopen on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
