University of Kentucky Bike Week is back, set for Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22. Cyclists can take part in five days of bike-related activities on and off campus, with a chance to win prizes.

Students who attend at least three Bike Week events and get their Bike Week passport stamped at each will be entered to win one of three prize drawings. This year, cyclists can vie for the chance to win a $100 gift certificate that can be spent at one of four participating local bike shops!

“Springtime is the perfect season to explore our community on two wheels,” said Sandra Broadwill, UK’s Alternative Transportation Manager. “Whether you’ve been biking for years or are just getting into the swing of it, there’s an activity for everyone. We hope this week’s focus on biking encourages people to enjoy the recreational side of it, but also to consider the possibility of using bikes as a viable commuting option.”

For those who would like to participate in Bike Week activites but don’t have bike of their own, bicycles can be checked out for free from the Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library, or e-bikes can be rented using the Bird app.
