New Student Commuter Permits On Sale Beginning Noon Today
UK Transportation Services will open new student commuter (C) permit sales for 2019-2020 beginning at noon today, Thursday, June 20. The sales window will last until C permits sell out.
The cost for the 2019-2020 C parking permit is $320 annually. This year, C9 permits are the only commuter permits available. These permits are restricted to students with 60 or more credit hours who live outside a one-mile radius of campus.
Permit renewal time also offers students a good opportunity to consider other methods of transportation to, from and around campus, rather than single occupancy vehicles. Transportation Services offers a number of incentives to encourage students to consider sustainable options, such as biking, busing, walking or ride sharing. For details about these incentives, visit the Incentives section of our website.
For students who choose to park on campus, please note that 2019-2020 parking permits must be displayed no later than Monday, August 5. Students who choose to purchase a commuter permit are required to park within their designated area. For more details about commuter permits, please visit our student commuter page.
All outstanding parking citations must be paid before a permit can be purchased. Citations may be paid online.
To complete the online permit purchase, students should have on hand their link blue login and password, license plate number, address, and credit or debit card number. It is imperative to review your license plate information for accuracy. Permit holders may have more than one license plate number on their account.
Printable permit purchase forms are available online for those who wish to purchase through the mail. Students choosing to purchase by mail are encouraged to do so as soon as possible, as permits are on a first come, first served basis until they sell out. Transportation Services is not responsible for late receipt of permit purchase forms due to postal service delay.
Students seeking a less expensive option than commuter parking may also consider periphery parking or off-peak parking. Periphery parking permits will go on sale during the second week of July and off-peak parking permits go on sale at noon on Tuesday, July 9.
