Student periphery (K), remote (X) and off peak (O) permits will go on sale beginning at noon on Tuesday, July 14. Permits are available for purchase online or by visiting the Transportation Services Customer Service Center, located at 721 Press Avenue.

In addition, 2020-2021 academic year parking permits for graduate/family on-campus residents living in Greg Page, Shawneetown or the Seminary areas for R19, R29 and R30 parking are also available for purchase beginning July 14. Students seeking these residential permits must purchase them in person or over the phone. Pick-up is available at the express pick-up window.

All outstanding parking citations must be paid before a new permit can be issued. Citations can be paid online or at the Transportation Services office.

There is no fee increase this year for peripheryremote or off-peak parking permits. Periphery permits are available for the full academic year at $272 or $136 for the fall semester only. Remote and off-peak permits cost $160 for the full academic year.

To purchase online,  students should log in to their customer account using their linkblue username and password. If purchasing a permit in person, please bring your UK ID, as well as information on the make, model and year of your vehicle, plus license plate number.

Permits purchased online prior to July 23 will be mailed to your home mailing address. After that date, they must be picked up in person at the express pick-up window. The express pick-up window is located inside the garage at the Transportation Services office, enabling permit holders to pick up their permits without entering the building.

Permits are valid beginning August 1 and must be displayed when parking on campus.

Periphery (K) Permit Details

Periphery permit holders have a variety of parking options, including the Kroger Field Red and Blue lots, Commonwealth Drive lot and the College Way West lot. All of these parking areas have direct access to the campus bus system. Periphery permit holders may also choose to park in the Wildcat Court lots, but these lots do not have direct campus bus access and require a brief walk to a bus stop located at the intersection of College Way Drive and Wildcat Court.

In addition to authorizing parking in all of the areas mentioned above, a periphery permit also authorizes permit holders to park in most employee intermediate (E) parking areas after 3:30 p.m. and in most employee core (C ) areas after 5 p.m. However, please pay attention to any signage at the entry to parking areas and any additional control signage, curb markings and other parking control devices within these areas before parking in them, as there are some exceptions.

Please also keep in mind that periphery permit holders who park in K lots are required to move their vehicles for home football games. Please see this page for additional information.

Remote (X) Permits

A limited number of remote permits will be allocated for on campus residential students this year. Remote permits are a cost-effective option for students who infrequently use their vehicles, but want to have them nearby.

Remote parking is located in the Greg Page and Shawneetown apartment area and is served by the campus Green Route, which provides access to campus via a bus transfer to the Blue and White routes at the Stadium Blue Lot bus shelter.

Off-Peak Permits

Off-peak permits are offered to students and employees who only desire to park on campus after 3:30 p.m. This permit provides the permit holder with convenient access during periods of low parking demand at a steeply discounted rate.

Please see our Parking Maps page for detailed information about campus parking areas. If you have questions or need more information, call 859-257-5757 or email UK Transportation Services.
