Student residential permits will go on sale beginning at noon on Tuesday, June 23, for returning UK students with a 2020-2021 campus housing assignment. This priority pre-sale window is available until noon on Monday, July 6, on a first come, first served basis.

Returning students (those who had a residential permit last year) can purchase permits online by logging into their customer account using their linkblue username and password.

Permits purchased online prior to July 22 will be mailed to your home mailing address. After that date, they must be picked up at the Transportation Services Customer Service Center, located at 721 Press Avenue.

Once the pre-sale window has closed, all remaining student residential permits will be offered for sale to the broader on-campus student residential population, regardless of class standing. The window for new student residential permit sales will begin at noon on Tuesday, July 7. This date is subject to change depending upon the release of housing assignments.

There is no fee increase this year for residential permits. Most student residential parking areas are designated within the core pricing tier as a result of their convenience, desirability and the reserved nature of the spaces. Core residential permits cost $480 for the academic year. R10 permits cost $320 and R19 permits cost $160 annually.

New this year, those assigned to housing on north campus will have an additional residential parking option. Construction on the Cornerstone Garage (PS #5), previously known as South Limestone Garage, will be complete prior to the start of classes and will have allocated residential spaces. These spaces will be available to students who live in the following areas: Blazer, Boyd, Holmes, Jewell, Patterson and Roselle Halls.

Please note that students who choose to purchase a residential permit are required to park within their designated area. Students seeking less expensive options may also consider periphery or remote permits. Periphery and remote permits are scheduled to go on sale Tuesday, July 14.

2020-2021 parking permits are valid starting on August 1 and must be displayed when parking in the designated parking area. In addition, all outstanding parking citations must be paid before a permit purchase will be processed. Citations may be paid online.

Permit renewal time also offers students a good opportunity to consider other methods of transportation to, from and around campus, rather than single occupancy vehicles. Transportation Services offers a number of attractive incentives to encourage both employees and students to consider sustainable options, such as biking, busing, walking or ride sharing. For details about these incentives, visit the Incentives section of our website.

Office hours for UK Transportation Services are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, the office will have special Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following dates:  June 27, August 1, 8, 15 and on Sunday, Aug. 16.
