Survey: Cyclist Attitudes in Urban Settings

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Kentucky and the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the University of Catania are conducting research to identify the attitudes and opinions of cyclists on current infrastructure. The goal of this research is to increase bicycling as a mode of transportation.

The survey is short and should take less five minutes to complete. Visit www.surveymonkey.com/r/bike_USA to take the survey.

Traffic Impact on University Drive Slated to Begin May 30

Starting Tuesday, May 30, roadwork will impact traffic on University Drive between Hilltop Avenue and Huguelet Drive to facilitate construction of a pedestrian crosswalk between Lewis Hall and the Johnson and Donovan Halls. However, through traffic will be maintained at all times.

From Tuesday, May 30 through Monday, July 3, the University Drive southbound lanes between Hilltop Avenue and Huguelet Drive will be closed. Traffic will be shifted to the west of the center island where the northbound lanes will temporarily change to accommodate two-way traffic.

From Tuesday, July 4 through Friday, August 4, the northbound lanes will be closed and traffic will shift to the southbound lanes, which will then accommodate two-way traffic.

The infrastructure work will not cause any planned deviations to campus or Lextran buses traveling on University Drive. However, riders should allow extra time in the event of traffic delays.

Members of the university community should allow extra time when traveling this section of campus.
