Spring 2020 Interim Campus Transit Service
Campus transit services have been adjusted as a result of the University’s response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the subsequent modifications to campus operations and academic instruction. Please see below for details.
Campus Bus Services
Orange Route – UK HealthCare Shuttle:
The Orange Route will continue to follow its normal operating schedule, 5 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Friday. In addition, the On-Demand Shuttle will be available on its regular schedule, from midnight to 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.
The Orange Route Extension service has been discontinued during this period, due to reduced parking demand on south campus.
Blue, White & Green Routes
The bi-directional campus Blue and White Routes (Route 14) and the Green Route will follow a limited service schedule for the remainder of the spring semester. Service hours are 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Yellow Route
The Yellow Route, which typically runs only on Saturdays and Sundays, will have extended days and hours during student move-out. The Yellow Route will run 6 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday through March 27. After that date, it will be discontinued for the remainder of the spring semester.
Transit Courtesy & Social Distancing
During this period, capacity on campus buses has been reduced by half in an effort to encourage social distancing. Please allow a minimum of one empty seat between passengers. Also, when waiting at a bus stop, riders are encouraged to leave extra space between individuals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a minimum of six (6) feet from others, whenever possible.
Anyone who suspects that they may be ill should not ride campus transit.
In addition, riders are being asked to be respectful of fellow passengers by avoiding coughing and sneezing on buses. If this is not possible, please ensure that you limit any airborne particles by sneezing into your arm or a Kleenex.
Additional Transit Services
Kentucky Wildcab
Kentucky Wildcab is a free, late-night ride-sharing service for students. This service has been cancelled for the remainder of the spring semester.
Paratransit Services
Paratransit service is available for the remainder of this week, through Friday, March 27, to support student move-out activities. After March 27, Paratransit services will be discontinued for the remainder of the spring semester. (This discontinuation will be re-evaluated in consultation with the Student Disability Resource Center if sufficient demand for the service still exists.)
