Spring Semester Parking & Transit Updates
The University of Kentucky is ready to welcome students back to campus for the spring semester, with move-in set for this weekend. As a result, there will be some changes to parking and transit operations beginning on Monday, January 25.
Parking
All student and employee parking lots and structures will return to normal parking control on Monday, January 25.
Students and employees who park in the Kroger Field Blue Lot will notice an increase in traffic, as a section of that lot is now being used for parking related to COVID-19 vaccination and testing. The vaccination clinic is open six days a week – Monday through Saturday. While much of the Blue Lot will be used for this purpose, the portion adjacent to University Drive will remain available for student and employee parking and is expected to accommodate demand. In the unlikely event that the Blue Lot fills, students can also park in the College Way Periphery (K) lots.
Please also note that additional parking options that were offered during winter break will end this Friday, January 22. Employees and students who took advantage of the opportunity to park on the upper floors of the Rose Street Garage (PS #2) and the Sports Center Garage (PS #7) over winter break should return to their regular authorized parking areas on Monday, January 25.
Campus Buses
Campus bus routes -- with the exception of the White Route -- will begin normal hours of operation on Monday. The campus Blue and Green routes run from 6:45 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday. The weekend Yellow Route runs from noon to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. The Orange Route (UK HealthCare) is in operation year-round.
Like the Fall 2020 semester, the White Route will not be in service this spring. Instead, all available buses will operate on the clockwise Blue Route.
Kentucky Wildcab & Kentucky Paratransit
Kentucky Wildcab will begin regular operating hours on Thursday, January 28. This free service provides a safe ride home for students on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Kentucky Paratransit Services will be in operation beginning Monday, January 25, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Transportation Services Customer Service Center
UK Transportation Services will have special Saturday office hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, January 23. These special Saturday hours are intended to assist UK students and employees who are unable to visit the office during regular business hours.
Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our customer service center is located at 721 Press Avenue, in the Press Avenue (PS #6) Garage.
