Student Parking Permit Sales Update

The parking permit pre-sale window for returning residential students and renewing commuter students will end this Friday, July 18, with these permit types opening for sale to the wider eligible student population starting early next week.

Important Upcoming Dates & Information:

• Residential (R) permit sales for all students with a confirmed UK housing assignment will begin at noon on Tuesday, July 22, and continue until sold out. The appropriate residential parking permit(s) for your housing assignment will appear as an option for purchase. Housing assignments must be finalized before residential permit options can be displayed.
• Residential periphery (RK) and Remote (X) permit sales will also start at noon on Tuesday, July 22.
• Commuter (C) permit sales for all remaining eligible commuter students who have 60 or more credit hours will start at noon on Wednesday, July 23, and continue until permits are sold out.
• Commuter periphery (CK) and off-peak permit sales will also start at noon on Wednesday, July 23.
• Please do not log into the online system before sales begin at noon EST on the respective dates, as the system's queue will not take effect until then and you may lose your place in line or experience issues when attempting to log back in.

Instructions Purchasing a Permit:

To purchase a permit online, simply log into your customer account using your linkblue ID and password. Students will see a list of permits for which they're eligible.

Please have the make, model, color, and license plate state and number of your vehicle available, as vehicle information is required before a permit purchase can be processed. (See graphic below for information about entering your license plate number.)

Permits purchased online can be mailed to your home mailing address or picked up in person at our customer service center, located at 721 Press Avenue. Regular office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

If you plan to pick up, please allow one full business day for processing. Pre-purchased permits can also be picked up at our exterior express window, which opens at 6:30 a.m. weekdays.

All outstanding parking citations must be paid before a permit purchase may be processed. Citations may be paid online or in our office.

Parking Control Details

Summer campus parking arrangements and control will end on Friday, August 15. 

Residential and commuter lots will go on control for designated 2025-2026 permits beginning on Saturday, August 16. Please display your permit upon arrival. These permits will also be activated for entry and exit from gated parking structures beginning on Saturday, August 16.
 
Periphery (RK and CK) lots temporarily go off control on Saturday, August 16, and return to permit control on Monday, August 25, when classes begin. These lots are temporarily taken off control to assist with campus move-in.
