Summer Parking & Transit Information
During the summer months, UK Transportation Services implements several changes to campus transit and parking operations due to the reduced campus population.
Please see below for details about bus service and parking-related modifications starting today.
Campus Bus Service
The campus Blue, White and Green routes will operate on a limited schedule of 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning on Monday, May 9, through Tuesday, August 16.
The buses will not be in service on Memorial Day, Monday, May 30; Juneteenth, Monday, May 20; or Independence Day, Monday, July 4. Regular service for these routes will begin on Wednesday, August 17.
The weekend Yellow Route will not run again until Saturday, August 20, when it will begin its new Saturday and Sunday schedule.
There will be no changes to the Orange Route (UK HealthCare) service, which will continue to operate on its normal schedule over summer break. The Orange Route will not be in operation on Memorial Day, Juneteenth, or Independence Day. On these holidays, UK HealthCare employees are authorized to park in healthcare parking facilities, per UK policy A10-055.

Summer Parking Control
Summer parking control begins on Monday, May 9, and will continue through Friday, August 12. While all lots remain on control throughout the summer term, permit holders will experience flexibility in student parking areas. Please see our summer parking map for details.
Summer permits authorize students to park in most student lots, as well as Cornerstone Garage (PS #5), Scott Street area lots, and Sports Center area lots, excluding spaces along Complex Drive, which remain restricted to E7/R7 permits.
In addition, portions of the Rose Street Garage (PS #2) and the Sports Center Garage (PS #7) will also be open for any valid permit. Rose Street Garage levels 1-2 will be restricted to E2 and R2 core permits, but the upper levels will be available for any valid permit. Likewise, levels 2 and 3 of Sports Center Garage will be available for any valid permit.
Please note that employee lots remain restricted to designated permits throughout the summer. While most lots are controlled for permits from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, many employee intermediate lots revert to any valid parking permit after 3:30 p.m. weekdays.
Some lots remain on control for specific permits 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These include employee reserved lots, the Nutter Center Lot, Memorial Coliseum residential areas (R17 and R18), Complex Drive, the Football Training Center Core Lot, and Seminary area residential lots (R29 and R30).
Please note that even when lots are not controlled for permits, they are still monitored for other parking violations including, but not limited to, parking in fire lanes, parking on yellow lines, and unauthorized parking in ADA-accessible areas.
