Thank You for Participating in Donations for Citations

Thank you to the campus community for showing up and supporting UK’s Big Blue Pantry again this year during our spring semester Donations for Citations drive.

UK Transportation Services collected 2,739.8 pounds of food and personal care items during this one-week period, representing donations from 463 people! These donations support students who are experiencing food insecurity or who require additional support to meet their personal care needs.

The spring semester drive began on Monday, Feb. 23, and continued through Friday, Feb. 27. Donations were delivered to the Pantry late last week.

Big Blue Pantry is an on-campus organization that works to combat hunger and food insecurity for students. This twice-per-year donation drive lets people settle one regular ($30) parking citation by donating food or personal care items.

Since the program’s inception in 2016, the campus community has donated 39,043 pounds of food and personal care items.

UK’s Student Government Association was instrumental in its support for the drive this year by helping promote the drive widely.

Dates for the fall semester Donations for Citations drive will be announced later this year.
