Update: UK Chandler Hospital Emergency Department Lot

Project:  UK HealthCare Chandler Hospital Expansion & Enabling Projects
Areas Impacted:  Chandler Hospital Emergency Department Lot & Hospital Drive

Utility work is now underway that will impact the Chandler Hospital Emergency Department Lot, as well as Hospital Drive.

Chandler Hospital Emergency Department Lot
The emergency department parking lot will close as early as Friday, Aug. 28. Those parking spaces will be relocated to a newly developed parking area located on the north side of the Agriculture Science Center North Building. The existing emergency department visitor lot will be converted to a temporary vehicle drop off zone with overhead portico to serve as the temporary ED drop-off and entry point during this project.

Hospital Drive 
A portion of Hospital Drive near the intersection of Hospital and Veterans drives will be fenced starting as early as Monday, Aug. 31, to allow contractors to tie in utilities in that area. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but the roadway will narrow. Orange Route buses will still be able to navigate the roadway and service the Pavilion A bus stop. Access to and from the VA Hospital parking garage will be unaffected and sidewalks should not be impacted.

Agriculture Lot
Previously, the existing Agriculture Lot was identified as the new emergency department lot, but that plan has changed. For now, the Agriculture Lot will remain unaffected.
