Vehicle Relocation Required for Upcoming Concert
The Tyler Childers “On the Road” concert is scheduled for Saturday, April 19, at Kroger Field. This event is expected to draw a large fan base and will require vehicle relocation for some parking permit holders.
Kentucky native S.G. Goodman is expected to take the stage at Kroger Field at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by Wynonna Judd. Childers will perform beginning around 9 p.m. For more details about the concert, see this page.
Parking Impacts
Individuals can begin the vehicle relocation process to regular season football game day relocation areas starting as early as 3:30 p.m. on Friday. All vehicles must be relocated prior to 8 p.m. Friday.
These permit holder types may be affected: E10, C10, R10, EK, CK, RK, Professional CK, R7, E7.
Any vehicles that remain in the following areas on the day of the concert will be impounded, so it’s important that relocation requirements be observed:
- North and South Red lots
- Green Lot
- Blue Lot
- Orange Lot
- Sports Center Drive Garage (PS #7)
- College Way East and West lots
- Wildcat Court lots
- University Drive will also be unavailable, beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. Any vehicles remaining in this area after 7 a.m. Saturday will be impounded.
Campus parking options increase considerably after 3:30 p.m. on Fridays and through the weekends. In addition, this concert will take place the Saturday before Easter, so many students will already be off campus.
The following lots and structures are available for vehicle relocation purposes:
- Employee intermediate (E) lots
- Most employee core lots
- Cornerstone Garage (PS #5)
- Press Avenue Garage (PS #6)
- Hilltop Avenue Garage (PS #2)
- University Drive Garage (PS #1)
- Scott Street area lots
Please pay attention to signage at the entrances to lots and structures to ensure that your vehicle is not moved into an area that is controlled for permits 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These areas include residential lots and structures and areas marked as reserved.
Campus Bus Service
The weekend Yellow Route will continue to run on the day of the concert, but the buses will not access the Tobacco Research, Blue Lot, and Red Lot stops. Yellow Route buses will instead use Cooper Drive as their southernmost stop, like typical football game day bus service.
