UK Transportation Services plans to show cyclists some love on Valentine’s Day, Wednesday, February 14.

If you cycle to campus regardless of the weather, make plans to stop by our tent in the Alumni Commons area, close to the Mining and Minerals Research Building anytime from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.  on Wednesday, February 14.

Grab a cup of hot coffee or hot chocolate, fresh donuts, and a Valentine’s Day themed cookie. Score a handy multi-use tool or a UK-branded neck gaitor to help keep you warm on cold winter days. You must be on a bicycle to participate.

Winter Bike to Campus Day is held annually to highlight all-weather cycling as an effective and efficient mode of transportation.

The Wildcat Wheels mobile bike repair shop will be on-site to assist with any on-the-spot tune-ups. Staff will also demonstrate how to load your bicycle on a bus rack.

UK Transportation Services invests in campus bicycle infrastructure and services designed to make it easy and enjoyable for students and staff to choose cycling as a reliable commuting option. Recently, UK’s status as a Gold-Level Bicycle Friendly University was reaffirmed by the League of American Bicyclists. This status recognizes the university’s significant investment in and commitment to improving bicycling infrastructure and services on campus.
