Participate in Big Blue Bike-to-Lunch Rides on May 18
In honor of National Bike to Work Day, UK Transportation Services and the UK Bicycle Advisory Committee invite UK students and employees to celebrate campus cycling with a group lunchtime ride at noon Friday, May 18. Those interested should meet at Wildcat Alumni Plaza.
Participants will have the option of biking to either the Chevy Chase area or the South Broadway end of Main Street, adjacent to Triangle Park. Both locations provide a variety of restaurant selections. Group rides will return to campus by 1 p.m.
Those who wish to participate but do not have a bike on campus may email wildcatwheels@gmail.com to check out a bike from Wildcat Wheels Bicycle Library, free of charge.
Bike to Work Day is part of National Bike Month, sponsored by the League of American Bicyclists (LAB). The month-long celebration was founded in 1956. This is the second annual Bike to Work Day event for UK, which has been recognized as a Silver Level Bicycle Friendly University by LAB.
