Winslow Street will temporarily close to traffic beginning on Monday, Oct. 14, to allow for the installation of an underground electrical distribution duct bank. The road is expected to be closed through Sunday, Oct. 27.

This road closure will require westbound Winslow traffic to detour north along South Limestone. The campus White Route (Lextran 14) and the counterclockwise loop of the Red Mile Route (Lextran 15) will also be impacted. Riders should expect a slight delay in service due to the effected routes being detoured around the road closure. Pedestrian sidewalk access on the north side of Winslow will be maintained.

This construction is associated with the expansion of the South Limestone Garage (PS #5) and is an important component of the construction schedule. It will allow for relocation of existing overhead utilities on Winslow to a subsurface duct bank to improve the walkability and visual appeal in the area, create a safer and less restricted construction site, and ultimately widen Winslow Avenue slightly.

While the Winslow closure is scheduled to last approximately two weeks, construction is dependent upon weather and the timetable is subject to change. Please allow extra time for your commute and exercise caution as you navigate the area.
