Winter Bike to Campus Day is Wednesday, Feb. 26!
Winter cyclists are a dedicated crew, regularly braving the cold on two wheels. UK Transportation Services recognizes these cyclists annually during Winter Bike to Campus Day.
This year’s event is set for 8-10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, at Alumni Commons. Free coffee and donuts – plus swag – will be available to cyclists who pause their pedals at our tent, located near the Mining and Minerals Research Building. You must be on a bike, or other form of micromobility, to participate.
Wildcat Wheels’ mobile repair station will also be on-site and available for quick tune-ups. Have questions about our bike programs? We’ll have experts on-site to answer your inquiries. Cyclists will also be able to meet Joseph Daniels, UK Transportation Services’ new alternative transportation manager.
“We’re very excited for this event celebrating commuters who choose micromobility options to get to and from campus, especially during the winter,” said Joey Daniels. “If you’re a consistent commuter or choose to forgo a parking permit for alternative means of transportation, please stop by even if Alumni Commons is not on your usual route! We’ll have an interest form available to gauge interest and help us decide the future of a revitalized Commute Club.”
Please note that Winter Bike to Campus Day will be rescheduled in case of severe weather or University closure. Visit UK Transportation Services on X @UKParking for updates.
UK Transportation Services invests in campus bicycle infrastructure and services designed to make it easy and enjoyable for students and staff to choose cycling as a reliable commuting option.
