Making Room for Accessibility: ADA Lot Expanded

The ADA-accessible parking lot located at 138 Leader Avenue has been doubled in size, with the creation of an additional nine ADA parking spaces, bringing the total to 18.

This lot was expanded following the demolition of an apartment building in the area. It provides permit holders with convenient access to the College of Medicine, Lee Todd Jr. Building, Healthy Kentucky Research Building, as well other areas of the healthcare campus.

“Our ADA permit holders have requested additional parking in this area,” said Sarah Nikirk, director of UK Transportation Services. “We’re glad to be able to offer these additional spaces to better accommodate our permit holders.”

This newest addition follows the recent creation of another ADA-accessible lot located on south campus.
