Crisis Exercise Area

Project: Full Scale Crisis Exercise
Areas/Services Impacted: Green Lot & Sports Center Drive

Please anticipate parking and transit impacts in the Kroger Field area from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Approximately 105 parking spaces located in the eastern portion of the Green Lot will be reserved for a crisis exercise. Sports Center Drive will also be closed in the vicinity of the Green Lot and College Way beginning at 8:30 a.m. This partial road closure will impact Green Route bus service on Thursday.

Green Route Bus Detour Information

During the crisis exercise, Green Route buses will not travel on Sports Center Drive. Instead, they will run from University Drive to Cooper and then turn right into the Kroger Field Red Lot. They’ll continue along the west side of Kroger Field, then through the Blue Lot to Alumni Drive. Buses will then service the College Way East and West lots and continue into Greg Page and Shawneetown.

All Green Route bus stops will be served except for the one at Bluegrass Community Technical College (BCTC). Please be prepared for possible delays in service due to the detour.

Access to Green Lot

Students and employees will be able to enter and exit the Green Lot via the North and South Red lots on Thursday, but access to the Green Lot will not be available from Sports Center Drive or College Way.

This crisis exercise is being led by the UK Police Department (UKPD) and Division of Crisis Management and Preparedness and is designed to test and strengthen the university’s emergency response systems in a realistic, fast-moving scenario, all part of UK’s ongoing commitment to preparedness and safety.

Please see this story for additional details about the exercise.
