Topping Out Ceremony Impacted Areas

Project: Health Education Building
Areas Affected: University Drive, metered spaces near University Flats & the W.T. Young Library Visitor Lot

A topping out ceremony is scheduled for the new Michael D. Rankin MD Health Education Building at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 28. This event will impact parking spaces along University Drive, metered spaces near University Flats, and the W.T. Young Library Visitor Lot.

A topping out ceremony celebrates the completion of the highest point on a building, often signifying the placement of a final structural beam.

Twenty-one (21) spaces along University Drive will be reserved for this event, from Complex Drive to the Avenue of Trees. In addition, eleven (11) metered spaces near University Flats and the W.T. Young Library Visitor Lot will be reserved. These areas will be unavailable from 5 a.m. to noon on Thursday.
