Parking in University Drive Garage to be Impacted by Work

University Drive Garage (PS #1) is scheduled to be resealed and restriped starting as early as Monday, May 23. This work will impact parking availability in the structure through early August. The work will be completed in phases, leaving approximately 50 percent of the structure available for parking at any one time. Employees who typically park in University Drive Garage may consider other nearby options, such as the Kroger Field Red, Blue, and Orange lots.

Summer Parking & Transit Information

Huguelet Drive Project to Impact ADA Lot

Approximately 19 spaces in the Huguelet Drive ADA Lot will be unavailable through mid-July due to a steam piping project in that vicinity. Work is expected to begin as early as Monday, May 9, and last for approximately 60 days, weather permitting.   Contractors will block the parking spaces (highlighted in yellow) to begin installation of steam pipes at the corner of Rose and Huguelet after spring graduation.  

2022-2023 Parking Permit Rates

UK students and staff who choose to park on campus for the 2022-2023 academic year will see a slight increase in parking permit fees. The last increase was three years ago, during the 2019-2020 academic year.  

Interested in a Free Bike? Applications are Now Open

Will you be on campus this fall, but can’t bring your bike with you? UK Transportation Services has two programs that provide free bikes to students for their personal use. Discover your options below and sign up today! Big Blue Cycles The Big Blue Cycles program has a fleet of more than 150 bicycles available exclusively to students living in campus housing who sign a one-year car-free commitment. Students selected for the program will have the bicycle for the entire academic year.

Kentucky Wildcab is Now Powered by Uber!

UK Transportation Services is excited to announce a first-of-its-kind partnership with Uber that marries Kentucky Wildcab’s popular student-operated ride-sharing service to Uber’s familiar and proven technology platform. Wildcab will transition to the Uber platform for the final weekend of the spring semester. This soft launch will allow the new platform to be tested during a traditionally low demand service weekend, providing valuable data and feedback in advance of the formal launch planned for the start of the 2022 fall semester.

Summer Parking Permits Available for Sale May 2

Summer parking permits will go on sale for students beginning on Monday, May 2. The permits cost $10 per week and can be purchased for any number of weeks. Summer permits are not available for purchase online, but may be purchased at our customer service center, located at 721 Press Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are also available for purchase by phone by calling 859-257-5757.

Upcoming Concert to Impact Parking & Transportation

Kentucky native Chris Stapleton, an award-winning singer and songwriter, will perform a “Concert for Kentucky” at Kroger Field on Saturday, April 23. He’ll be joined by artists, Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, and Madeline Edwards. The performance will attract a large fan base, so UK students and employees should anticipate transportation and parking-related impacts in the Kroger Field area in the days leading up to and during the event.   Parking Impacts

The Most Fun on Two Wheels: UK Bike Week is April 18-22

University of Kentucky Bike Week is back, set for Monday, April 18, through Friday, April 22. Cyclists can take part in five days of bike-related activities on and off campus, with a chance to win prizes. Students who attend at least three Bike Week events and get their Bike Week passport stamped at each will be entered to win one of three prize drawings. This year, cyclists can vie for the chance to win a $100 gift certificate that can be spent at one of four participating local bike shops!

Applications for Alternative Transportation Programs Open Wednesday

UK Transportation Services will open applications for three alternative transportation programs on Wednesday, April 13: Bike Voucher, Commute Club and Cash Out. These programs are designed to reward students and employees for going car-free on campus. One of them may be right for you! Bike Voucher Program
