Expect Traffic Impacts on Columbia Avenue
Work to replace gas lines along Columbia Avenue and Columbia Terrace is expected to begin as early as this week, weather permitting.
Columbia Gas is replacing an existing gas main line and service line in the vicinity. This work will take place on Columbia Avenue from Rose Street to Oldham Avenue and will impact vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Contractors indicate they will maintain access to adjacent residential areas and parking areas and will keep one lane of traffic open. Flaggers will be on-site to help direct traffic.
Campus buses will continue to travel through the area, although route times may be affected.
The work is expected to continue through early August and will also include the demolition and removal of a regulator station on Rose Street near Hilltop Avenue Garage.
