Thanksgiving Break Parking & Transit Updates
The countdown to turkey time is so close you can almost taste it! What does Thanksgiving break mean for parking and transit options on campus?
Upcoming official University holidays are Thursday, Nov. 27, and Friday, Nov. 28.
Campus Bus Service Changes
- The weekday Blue and White Routes and the Green Route will run on a modified schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 26, ending at 6 p.m. rather than midnight. These routes will not be in service on Thursday, Nov. 27, or Friday, Nov. 28.
- The Orange Route (UK HealthCare) will operate on its regular schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 5 a.m. to midnight. Orange Route service will not be available on Thursday, Nov. 27, or Friday, Nov. 28.
- The weekend Yellow Route will not be in service on Saturday, Nov. 29, but will run from 9 a.m. to midnight on Sunday, Nov. 30, to assist students returning from break.
- UK’s late-night On Demand Shuttle will be available Wednesday, Nov. 26, from midnight until 5 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27. The shuttle will not be available Thursday or Friday evenings.
- Regular bus service schedules resume on Monday, Dec. 1.
Parking Control Changes
Campus parking lots will not be controlled for parking permits on Thursday, Nov. 27, or Friday, Nov. 28. However, all other parking regulations will be enforced (ADA spaces, yellow lines, fire lanes, etc.).
Normal parking permit enforcement will resume on Sunday, Nov. 30.
Students who are traveling for Thanksgiving break may leave their vehicles in their authorized parking areas over the break if they need to do so.
UK Transportation Services’ Office Hours
UK Transportation Services’ Customer Service Center is closed on official University holidays. Regular office hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.
