UKHC Parking & Transportation Update

An annual winter break begins for much of the campus on Monday, December 21, through Sunday, January 3. But due to the nature of its services, UK HealthCare (UKHC) parking and bus transportation remains largely unchanged. With the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, there are no changes to UK HealthCare policy which restricts employee parking in UK HealthCare patient/visitor parking garages and lots.

Additional Winter Break Parking Options

In an effort to provide increased convenience during the winter semester break, UK Transportation Services is authorizing permit holders with any valid UK parking permit to park on the upper floors of the Rose Street Garage (PS #2) and the Sports Center Garage (PS #7). These changes are effective beginning Tuesday, Dec. 8, through Friday, Jan. 22, 2021. Additional details are below: Rose Street Garage (PS #2)

The UK Orthopaedics/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl will take place starting Friday, Dec. 18, at Kroger Field. The games are not expected to have significant impacts on parking, bus schedules or campus traffic, although employees may notice an increase in traffic on Friday afternoon and evening.

UK HealthCare Service, Vendor & Delivery Parking

Beginning Monday, Nov. 30, parking at the UK HealthCare campus for commercial and private sales, service, maintenance and delivery vehicles will be impacted by construction. A portion of the 15-space vendor parking lot located on the east side of Pavilion A adjacent to the security office will be closed through 2023 to facilitate construction deliveries and staging for the fit-out of the 5th and 12th floors of the Chandler Hospital.
