Sign Up Now for Winter Break Airport Shuttle Service

The end of the fall semester is just a couple of weeks away! If you plan to travel home by air over the break, take advantage of UK Transportation Services’ free regional airport shuttles. Students, staff, and faculty can ride to and from Kroger Field to Blue Grass Airport (LEX), Louisville International Airport (SDF), and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). This service is offered in partnership with the Student Transportation Council.

KHSAA Football Championship Games Start Friday

The Kentucky high school state football championship games will take place starting Friday, December 2, and Saturday, December 3, at Kroger Field. The games are not expected to have a significant impact on campus parking, as most students and employees will be on-site before football fans begin to arrive. However, campus bus service schedules will likely be impacted by the increase in traffic on Friday and Saturday. The games will start at noon, 4 p.m., and 8 p.m. both days.

2023 Student Spring Permit Sales Start Monday, Dec. 5

Beginning Monday, December 5, UK Transportation Services will offer 2023 student spring semester parking permits for sale online and on-site.

Prepare Now for Inclement Weather

Did you know that typical car batteries start to lose power when the temperature drops below 32 degrees? What do you do if your automobile suddenly leaves you stranded? UK Transportation Services offers free jumpstarts, as well as additional discounted motorist assistance services for students, staff, and faculty. Football Vehicle Relocation Reminder: Home Games Set for Next Three Saturdays

The Wildcats have three remaining home football games in a row, starting this Saturday, November 12. This is your reminder that some UK parking permit holders will need to relocate their vehicles for the game. Regular vehicle relocation practices are in place for this week’s game, and for the home game on Saturday, November 19.

Thanksgiving Break Parking & Transportation Updates

Thanksgiving break is almost within sight! UK Transportation Services wants to remind students, staff, and faculty that during the break there will be parking and campus bus service changes.

5K Race Set for Saturday: Expect Traffic, Parking & Transportation Impacts

DanceBlue is hosting a “Color Me Blue” 5K race on campus this Saturday, November 5, from 2-3 p.m. UK employees and students should anticipate traffic, transportation, and parking impacts. In particular, permit holders with R7, R11, R13, and R15 permits will be affected. Please see additional details and recommendations below.

Grab Your Groceries Before Heading Home!

Everyone is busy juggling work and home responsibilities, grocery shopping being one of those chores. Now, UK employees and students can check this shopping job off their list before heading home. UK and Kroger have partnered to add the southwest corner of the Kroger Field Orange Lot as a pick-up location for online grocery orders. The service started this week! See the map for the exact pick-up location.

Are You Traveling Over Thanksgiving Break? You Have Options!

Let’s talk turkey. If you’re planning to travel home or elsewhere over Thanksgiving break, you have at least two good options to get from campus to where you want to go: BreakShuttle and Free Regional Airport Shuttles. UK Transportation Services is offering both travel options for students again this academic year. Choose the one that works best for you!

Join the Student Transportation Council!

UK’s Student Transportation Council is seeking new student members! Submit your application today if you’re interested in helping to create and decide on which transportation-related projects receive funding on campus! As a member of the Student Transportation Council, you’ll play an active role in deciding how funds are allocated for sustainable transportation-related projects. In total, the council oversees the allocation of approximately $250,000 each year.
