Lexington Seeks Input on Draft Bike & Pedestrian Plan The Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has released a draft of the 2017 Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan and is encouraging the public to review it and offer feedback. Winter Bike to Campus Day Set for Feb. 7 Riding a bicycle is a growing mode of getting to, from, and around campus for students and employees alike, and for many, cold weather doesn’t deter their bike commute. On Wednesday, Feb. 7, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the Funkhouser Plaza, UK Transportation Services is celebrating these all-weather cyclists with the second annual Winter Bike to Campus Day. The event is also presented by the UK Bicycle Advisory Committee.

Big Blue Cycles Registration Now Open For 2018 The application for the Big Blue Cycles fleet is now open for the 2018-2019 academic year. The fleet of 150 bicycles is available exclusively to students living in campus housing who sign a commitment not to bring a car to Lexington. Students selected for the program will have the use of the bicycle for the entire academic year.

Trade Four Wheels for Two with Bike Voucher Program UK Transportation Services is now accepting applicants for its 2018 bicycle voucher program. The program offers qualified applicants each $400 in vouchers - valid at any of the five participating local bike shops - in exchange for agreeing not to purchase a motor vehicle permit for two years.
