Join the Bike Lexington Challenge May is National Bike Month, and the UK Bicycle Advisory Committee is encouraging the campus community to participate in the annual Bike Lexington calendar of events. The seventh annual Bike Challenge is one of the Lexington Bike Month events. This fun and free incentive-based cycling initiative is presented by the Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Downtown Lexington Corporation and Love to Ride.

Recommended Bicycle Route During Avenue of Champions Closure

Recommended Bicycle Route During Avenue of Champions Closure As announced on April 29, underground utility work will require a portion of Avenue of Champions to close for eight weeks this summer. On Monday, May 16, Avenue of Champions from Lexington Avenue to South Limestone will close. Specifically, the closure is scheduled to last until Monday, July 13 to facilitate underground utility work for the University of Kentucky Student Center renovation and expansion project.

Volunteers Needed for Campus Bicycle Count The University of Kentucky Bicycle Advisory Committee is seeking volunteers to collect data for the inaugural campus bicycle count to be held Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. Unlike previous bicycle censuses, this count will document bike parking patterns. After completion, this study will validate infrastructure improvements made over the last decade and help identify areas for future improvements.
