Summer Parking Permits go on Sale May 1

Summer parking permits will go on sale for students beginning on Monday, May 1. The permits cost $10.50 per week and can be purchased for any number of weeks. Summer permits are not available online, but may be purchased at our customer service center, located at 721 Press Avenue, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They are also available for sale by phone at 859-257-5757.

Portion of Hospital Drive to Close Temporarily Starting Monday

A portion of Hospital Drive located between University and Veterans drives is expected to close temporarily starting mid-morning on Monday, April 24, for approximately 12 weeks. The one-block section will reopen by July 14, weather permitting. This project represents the fourth phase of construction work to improve and rehabilitate Cooling Plant #1. 

Considering Going Car-Free on Campus?

If you’ve been considering going car-free on campus, check out UK Transportation Services’ incentives programs. Applications for Bike Vouchers, Commute Club, and the Cash Out program will open on Wednesday, April 19. These programs reward students and employees for going car-free. One of them may be right for you!

2023 Donations for Citations Drive Breaks Record!

This year’s Donations for Citations drive was the largest ever, netting more than two tons of food and personal care items for UK’s Big Blue Pantry. UK students and employees donated more than 4,358 pounds of staples, topping last year’s amount by more than 1,300 pounds. In all, 452 people took part in this year’s food drive. This is the eighth year for the Donations for Citations program, which helps stock Big Blue Pantry’s (BBP) shelves. Since its inception in 2016, nearly 21,500 pounds of food have been collected and delivered to the Pantry.

Events to Impact Parking in Linden Walk Lot

Employee parking spaces in the Linden Walk Lot will be unavailable on Friday, March 17.

Event to Impact Employee Parking on North Campus

An event planned for this Thursday morning, March 9, at the King Alumni House, will impact 57 employee spaces in the King Alumni North and South lots. OperaLex is hosting a Spring Opera Preview Luncheon that morning. As a result, these employee intermediate (E) spaces will be unavailable from 7 a.m. to noon on Thursday. Employees should consider other parking areas in that vicinity, including:

Spring break is fast approaching! Each year, UK Transportation Services adjusts parking and campus bus services to reflect the needs of a temporarily reduced campus population. Below are details concerning these changes. Parking Permit Control All employee (E) lots will remain on control as normal from Monday, March 13, through Sunday, March 19.

Donations for Citations is Back! Drive is Feb. 27-March 10

UK Transportation Services' annual Donations for Citations drive starts on Monday, February 27, and runs through Friday, March 10.  Donations for Citations helps stock the shelves at UK’s Big Blue Pantry. UK students and employees who have a regular ($30) parking citation can pay their fee during this two-week period by donating food or personal care items to Big Blue Pantry (BBP). Ten food items or five personal care items will waive one regular citation of $30 or less.

HireBlue Career Fairs to Impact Parking, Traffic on North Campus

The James W. Stuckert Career Center will hold two HireBlue Career Fairs in the Gatton Student Center this week, which will impact parking and traffic on north campus. In both cases, the student center visitor lot will be reserved for attendees from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Permit holders should also anticipate increased traffic and demand for parking in Cornerstone Garage. Spring Break Airport Shuttle Registration is Open!

Spring break starts in a few short weeks! If you plan to fly home – or elsewhere -- over the break, consider using UK Transportation Services’ free regional airport shuttles. Students, staff, and faculty can ride to and from Kroger Field to Blue Grass Airport (LEX), Louisville International Airport (SDF), and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). This service is offered in partnership with the Student Transportation Council.
