Career Fairs to Impact North Campus Parking, Sept. 24-25

The James W. Stuckert Career Center will host two career fairs next week in the Gatton Student Center. These events will impact parking availability on north campus on Tuesday, Sept. 24, and Wednesday, Sept. 25. The Engineering, Computer Science and STEM Career Fair will take place on Tuesday and will impact the student center visitor lot, as well as 50 spaces in the Memorial Coliseum Lot. These areas will be reserved all day Tuesday for prospective employers.

Big Blue Madness to Impact Parking in College View Lot

University of Kentucky fans hoping to obtain tickets for the  Big Blue Madness 2019 event at Rupp Arena will begin moving into the College View Lot at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The College View Lot is located between Wildcat Coal Lodge and Rose Street with an entrance off College View Avenue.

Bike Lexington Family Fun Ride is September 28

This year’s Bike Lexington Family Fun Ride will take place on Saturday, Sept. 28, and will travel through part of the University of Kentucky’s campus. Presented by Pedal Power, with support from the University of Kentucky, this free, family-friendly event will begin downtown Lexington at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Attendees can expect a kids’ rodeo before the ride, and other lively programming. Activities begin at 8 a.m. and the ride starts at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is not required.

BreakShuttle Expands Academic Break Transportation Service

BreakShuttle, the nation’s largest provider of college break transportation services, is expanding its route offerings this year for the University of Kentucky community. Two new charter bus routes include St. Louis with a stop in Evansville, IN and a route to Paducah with a stop in Nortonville/Madisonville. Both routes are offered during Thanksgiving and Spring Breaks.

Registration Now Open for Thanksgiving Break Airport Shuttles

Is it too early to start thinking about Thanksgiving break? It’s not if you’re planning to travel during that time. University of Kentucky Transportation Services – in partnership with the Student Transportation Council -- is offering a free airport shuttle service from Kroger Field to Blue Grass Airport (LEX), Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) for Thanksgiving break. 

Labor Day Holiday Campus Bus Route Changes

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, most regular campus bus routes will not operate on Monday, Sept. 2. This will include the Blue and White Routes (Lextran 14), the Green Route and the Orange Route (UK HealthCare Route).

Vehicle Relocation Required for Home Football Games

UK’s football season opens this Saturday, which means that some permit holders will need to relocate their vehicles to accommodate the influx of Wildcat football fans. Students and employees who park in the Periphery (K) parking lots at Kroger Field (Red, Blue & Orange), the Commonwealth Drive Lot, College Way East and West lots and Wildcat Court lots, as well as the Sports Center Garage (PS #7) and Sports Center Drive lots are required to relocate their vehicles before 7 a.m. on home football game days.

Yellow Route Now Available on Saturdays

UK Transportation Services is expanding campus bus service by introducing a Saturday Yellow Route (Lextran Route 27). This new service will begin this Saturday, Aug. 24, and run from noon to midnight. The Yellow Route will now operate on both Saturdays and Sundays while school is in session. Previously, the Yellow Route only ran on Sundays. With this addition, it will expand the reach of on-campus transit service to seven days a week.

Get Prepared for Pedalpalooza!

Mark your calendars for Pedalpalooza, UK Transportation Services’ free annual bicycling event, set for Sunday, August 25. This year, Pedalpalooza will be held from 1-3 p.m. in the Gatton Student Center parking lot. Fun and games are guaranteed, plus the opportunity to learn practical safety, signaling and signage tips and become familiar with using bus bicycle racks. Create your own pedal-powered fruit smoothie and pick up some free swag, including bicycle helmets and bike bells, while they last.
