Campus Transit Update on Mask Requirements

Beginning today, mask requirements on campus have relaxed significantly for fully vaccinated individuals, but please be aware that facial coverings are still required when loading, unloading and riding on public transportation.

Residential Permit Sales Open Noon Tuesday for New Students

2021-2022 student residential (R) parking permits will go on sale starting at noon on Tuesday, June 15, for UK students with a 2021-2022 campus housing assignment. Sales will continue until permits are sold out.

Interested in a Free Bike? Applications Now Open

Will you be on campus this fall, but can’t bring your bike with you? UK Transportation Services has two programs that provide free bikes to students for their personal use. Discover your options below and sign up today! Big Blue Cycles The Big Blue Cycles program has a fleet of more than 150 bicycles available exclusively to students living in campus housing who sign a one-year car-free commitment. Students selected for the program will have the bicycle for the entire academic year.

Commuter Parking Permit Sales Start June 7

Student commuter (C) permits will go on sale beginning Monday, June 7, for returning students (those who had a commuter permit last academic year). This priority pre-sale window is available through Wednesday, June 16, on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the pre-sale window closes, all remaining commuter parking permits will be offered for sale to the broader commuter student population with 60 or more credit hours. Sales will begin at noon on Tuesday, June 22, and will continue until permits are sold out.

2021-2022 Residential Parking Permit Sales

2021-2022 student residential (R) parking permits will go on sale starting Wednesday, June 2, for returning UK students with a 2021-2022 campus housing assignment. This priority pre-sale window is available on a first-come, first-served basis through Friday, June 11.

2021-2022 Employee Parking Permit Sale Dates

2021-2022 employee parking permit sales begin this month. The sale dates vary based upon permit type; additional details are below. Transportation Services is pleased to announce that parking permit rates remain unchanged from last year. Employees can opt to have their parking permit fees deducted on a pre-tax basis, where the cost is taken from the employee’s gross pay before taxes are withheld, thereby reducing the employee’s overall taxable income. Permits are available for purchase online, on-site and over the phone according to the renewal schedule detailed below.

Summer Parking Permits on Sale Starting May 10

Students who need to park on campus this summer can purchase a summer parking permit beginning on Monday, May 10. The permits will be available at our customer service center, located at 721 Press Avenue, or by calling 859-257-5757. They cost $10 per week and are available for any number of weeks.

Employees Get Rewarded for Going Car-Free

UK Transportation Services is now accepting applications for its Cash Out program. Now in its fifth year, Cash Out financially rewards employees who choose to forego a parking permit for one year. The program is limited to the first 100 qualified applicants. Cash Out provides participants with $200 over a one-year period, evenly divided across paychecks. It’s designed for employees who are interested in alternative modes of transportation, such as riding the bus, bicycling, carpooling or walking to campus.
