Searching for a Ride Home for Thanksgiving Break?

Are you planning to travel home for Thanksgiving but still need a ride? BreakShuttle may be a good fit. This charter bus service enables students, staff, and faculty to take a bus from campus to their hometowns and other destinations during Thanksgiving and spring breaks. BreakShuttle contracts with UK Transportation Services to provide the service, offering transportation for those who prefer not to fly or who need a last-minute, comfortable ride home.

Woodland Avenue Project May Cause Traffic Delays

Work to relocate a duct bank could begin as early as Tuesday along Woodland Avenue, between Sports Center Drive and Columbia Avenue. This project will impact traffic and pedestrian access in that area. The northbound lane of Woodland Avenue will be closed to provide room for a dump truck and backhoe to be staged. Contractors will dig up an existing sidewalk to install the duct bank. Two-way traffic is expected to be maintained, as northbound traffic will be shifted into the turn lane instead.

Catch a Free Ride to the Airport!

UK Transportation Services is offering free rides to regional airports again this year for Thanksgiving break. Students, faculty, and staff can take advantage of free rides to and from Kroger Field to Blue Grass Airport (LEX), Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). This service is offered in partnership with the Student Transportation Council.

Fun Run on Saturday will Impact Campus Traffic

The University of Kentucky Physician Assistants Program (UKPA) will hold a Healthcare Heroes Fun Run on campus this Saturday, November 13. The race will impact traffic along its route from 7 a.m. to noon.

Kentucky Wildcab has a New Manager, Meet Brandon Darkomensah

Brandon Darkomensah is UK Transportation Services’ new assistant transportation manager. He works primarily during the evenings to oversee transit operations including campus buses, the on-demand late-night bus, and Kentucky Wildcab, a ridesharing service for University of Kentucky students.

Kroger Field Lots to be Impacted on Saturday

The Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) State Marching Band Championship will be held on Saturday, October 30, at Kroger Field. Please anticipate heavy traffic in that area and plan accordingly.

Farm Road to Temporarily Close to Thru Traffic

Farm Road is scheduled to be closed to thru traffic beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, October 18, through Tuesday evening, October 19, to install an electrical and data duct bank across the roadway.
